About Jamie | Quiet Look Photography
Hi there!
I'm Jamie.
I was born in Sydney, Australia and now call Nashville home. Photography has been part of my life for over twenty years, and for me, it’s always been a way of paying attention. I’m drawn to the subtle details that make a moment feel alive; a change in expression, the way someone holds themselves, the way light and shadow define a scene.
I’m married and a father of two kids. I have an 11-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, and they serve as a constant reminder of how quickly life moves. Being a husband and a dad has changed how I see things. It’s made me more patient, observant, and aware of how meaningful ordinary moments can be. That perspective shapes the way I photograph families, couples, and everyday life.
Music has also been a big part of my story. I've spent many years writing and performing, and that experience led me organically to concert photography. I understand the rhythm of a show, the tension and release, and the connection between performers and the audience. Photographing live music feels like a natural extension of that background. I enjoy staying present and locked in, anticipating the moments that can’t be repeated.
Whether I’m documenting a family, a couple, a live show, or doing street photography, my approach stays the same: pay attention, be present, and capture what catches my eye.
When I’m not working, I’m usually listening to music, walking with a camera, or spending time with my lovely family.
I’m based in Nashville, Tennessee, but I still have family in Chicago and spend time there throughout the year. If you’re in the Chicago area and interested in working together, feel free to reach out. I occasionally schedule sessions while I’m in town.
